Okay, I'll Play Tag

I am also dutifully posting the rules: A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asks them to read your blog.

All of what is posted here is some pretty ancient history, so bear with me (or feel free to giggle if you like). I'm too old to have only 6 facts or habits, but I'll leave it at that for now. This blog begins the long journey toward the raising of my four beautiful children, whom this site was dedicated to and started for in the first place. So...enjoy!
1.When I was very young I would fit in the back window of the Buick. Seat belts were not even invented yet (this is a 1954 Buick). I would lay in the back window whenever we went somewhere. These cars were very heavily built. They were like cast iron buckets on wheels. I remember one time by dad slammed my thumb in the door of this car and smashed it pretty good.
I lost my thumbnail because of it, and learned a good lesson to be sure my hands were inside the car before the doors were shut.

2.This is the home our family moved into in 1957 on Grandpa Anderson's farm near Cowley. It was built in 1956 when I was 3 years old. This picture was taken in 1974 (just a FEW ;) years later), but the siding and windows never changed, just the landscaping. Where the wagon sits in the picture used to be our garden that we planted every spring. In later years we moved the garden further East on the property (the front door seen in the picture faces East) so the newer plot for the garden would be at your back as you view the picture.

3.My School years began with a class of 17 in Cowley Wyoming. I felt very special because my First Grade Teacher had the same last name as me (her name was Myra Anderson). Mother explained to me that we were not related, but that didn't matter to me, I still felt a bond there. I am the first one on the left in the back row. Genevieve, my best friend is the last one (on the right) on the back row. Seven of the kids in this picture graduated with me.

4.In High School I was part of the Yearbook club. Mrs. Jacobs was our Journalism teacher. I always enjoyed writing and to this day I am critical of people who misspell words or use the wrong spelling of a word in a sentence. I'm sorry to everyone that I keep correcting who can't seem to "get a clue". :)

5.I graduated from Cowley High School in 1972. There were only 9 of us. (Big class, huh)! We have certainly gone our separate ways since then. Sharon Brimhall, Monica Nordenstam and Genevieve Eyre are the only ones left in Cowley.

6.After High School I attended Mary Kawakami College of Beauty in Provo, Utah in the fall of 1972. I enjoyed college and the skills I learned but I never finished the training. When my mother heard that John and I wanted to get married she made me return home to plan the wedding. She said if I was going to get married in 3 months that there was not time for school. So I left school around Christmastime and went back to Cowley to plan my wedding. John and I got married in April of 1972.

Sorry, I only know 2 others with blogs, so...tag to Robyn and Chauna. You're both it. And since you both have done this already, there's not alot of sense to the ending of this little game. But it was fun, nonetheless. Thanks for turning me on to this blogger thing. With a bit more practice, I might even know what I'm doing!

Like Mother, Like Son

I came across this picture of Chauna and Amy (must have been after I used my oldest child for a guinea pig again),

and I could not believe the resemblance to Jett. There are probably better pictures of Jett that would show a closer comparison, but I posted the best one I had. I don't know if it's the eyes, the smile, the forehead, or that beautiful head of hair that caught my eye, but I just had to share!
